Remember, you are never alone.

What do you know about those buddies?

Well, let me introduce you to one of them.

More than 400 types of bacteria live in the human digestive system. Many of these bacteria types are good bacteria — they help the digestive system to do its job. Good bacteria can do several things to promote health. It helps to break down plant starches and other foods that the human body has difficulty digesting. This allows the body to convert more food into energy.

Lactobacillus is one of them. Lactobacillus are characterized by their ability to produce lactic acid from sugar glucose. Various species of Lactobacillus are used commercially during the production of sour milks, cheeses, and yogurt, and they have an important role in the manufacture of fermented vegetables (kimchi), beverages (wine and juices), sourdough breads, and some sausages.
